What is OT?

A

Occupational therapy is a client-centred health profession concerned
with promoting health and well being through occupation.
Occupational therapy works with people of every age, that struggle with sensoric, motoric, affective or cognitive disabilities.
Occupational therapists prioritize the meaningful activities of their clients. The ambition of occupational therapy is the recovery, emprovement or conservation of the clients’ independence in daily life. Occupational therapists achieve this outcome by modifying the occupation or the environment to better support their
occupational engagement. Each therapy is adjusted to the wishes, goals and needs of the client.

A patientˋs course through health system

A

A patient makes an appointment with the GP during the consultation hours. The GP treats minor illnesses, prescribes medicine (in the form of prescription) and gives a referral slip to the patient.
In case of a serious illness he refers to a specialist or a general hospital. In case of an acciedent or an emergency the patient is driven to the hospital by an ambulance.
