What happens to the light if it is placed under a bowl?
A
Light needs oxygen in the air to burn. If it is placed under a bowl, the flame will die off very quickly because there is no oxygen. In our context, it means our Christian identity dies off quickly.

What is a salt?
A
Salt is a compound consisting positively-charged cations and negatively charged anions.
The salt here refers to NaCl, Sodium Chloride, the one that we use in our kitchen.

Can salt lose its saltiness?
A
Salt can’t lose its saltiness unless they cease to be NaCl.
We can’t lose our saltiness unless we cease to be Christian.

A
Sometimes we behave as though we are not Christian.
