  • either wanted to be king (claim) or wanted Tudor to be king
  • Buckingham had most land and titles but always wanted more so annoyed when Richard refused
  • saw himself as kingmaker so wanted to put Tudor on the throne

- told by Buckingham not to land due to the weather and the fact the rebellion was going badly

  • Doest and Daubeney flee to Tudors court
  • Tudor retuned to Brittany after hearing of Buckinghams execution
  • Tudor now emerged as credible rival to the throne
  • lands confiscated from the rebels and 100 northern nobles benefited form this (south not happy)
