The Obligation
Where did you receive the obligation
Within the body of a just and legally constituted lodge, duly assembled in a room or place representing the middle court of KsT

In a room adjoining the lodge
How were u prepared
By being divested of all metallic substances, being neither naked not clad, barefoot nor shod, hoodwinked with a cable tow twice around my naked left arm, in which condition I was led to the door of the lodge by a brother
U being hoodwinked, how did u know it was a door
By first meeting with resistance and then gaining admission
How did u gain admission.
By three distinct knocks upon the outside of the door
What was said to you from within
Who comes, who comes here
What was your answer
I Paul Darwin who has been regularly initiated as an EA mason, served the proper time as such, and now desires further Light in masonry by being passed to the degree of FC
What questions were then asked of you?
If it was of my own free will and accord I made the request, if I was duly and truly prepared, worthy and well qualified and made suitable proficiency in the preceding degree, and was properly vouched for, all of which being answered in the affirmative, I was asked by what further right I expected to gain admission
What was your answer
By benefit of the pass word
Had you the password
I had it not, but my conductor had it for me
What was then told you
To await the time with patience, until my request should be made know. To the wm and his answer returned
What was his answer
Let the candidate enter, and be received in due and ancient form
Upon what were you received
Upon the angle of a square applied to my naked right breast, which was to teach me to square my actions by the square of virtue towards all mankind, more especially a brother mason
How were you then disposed of
I was led twice regularly around the lodge room, then to the Jr. Warden in the south, the sw in the west and wm in the east, at each station the same questions were asked and like answers returned as at the door
What did the wm then do with u
He ordered me to the sw, who taught me how to approach the H A of free masonry, the place of Masonic light in due and ancient form
What was that due and ancient form
Taking two regular upright steps the first as in the preceding, then stepping off upon my right foot, bringing the heel of the left to the hollow of the right, my feet forming a right angle and my body erect.
What was then done with you
I was made a FC mason
How
In due and ancient form
What was the due and ancient form
Kneeling upon my naked right knee, my left forming a square, my left arm extended forming a square, supported by a square, my right hand resting upon the H B, S and C in which due form I took upon myself the FC Mason’s obligation
