- believe legal and social equality for women will come through a gradual process of reform - march of progress . Measures include better and high quality free or more affordable childcare, equal pay and anti discrimination and equal opportunity’s laws
- OAKLEY: research on housework and gender role socialisation - helps understand gender inequalities which stem from he family eg way b + g are taught to conform to social expections of gender via manipulation, canalisation, domestic activities and verbal appellations
- sexist attitudes nd stereotypical beliefs about gender = social construct and transmitted via socialisation - to achieve equality need o change docs socialisation patterns via role models in education and family eg female teachers in traditional male subjects

- FIRESTONE: sexual class system = fundamental form of stratification in all socs. Biological family - women are burdened by pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding and menstruation becoming dependant on men - power psychology develops maintaining female oppression
