Supreme Court looked at the case of an impoverished Texas woman who did not want to bear a child in poverty. Texas abortion prohibited it. Feminist lawyers argued that the rights to contraception should be extended to abortion. In Roe v. Wade the Supreme Court ruled that women could abort in the first 13 weeks.
