-There was very little shift in who had power and who didn’t
-you were born into your social class and stayed there for the rest of your life (in rare cases, if you get married into a different social class the higher status would move down)

-power was maintained by those in social classes with the least amount of people (nobility and royalty) while those in The social classes with the most amount of people were those that had the least amount of power (peasants and serfs)
