When can the air conditioning pack not be operated in HIGH?
With either one or both engine BLEED air switches on, do not operate air conditioning packs in HIGH for takeoff, approach or landing.
When must the engine anti-ice system be on?
The engine anti-ice system must be ON during all ground and flight operations when icing conditions exist or are anticipated, except during climb and cruise below -40°C SAT. Engine anti-ice must be ON prior to and during descent in all icing conditions, including temperatures below -40°C SAT.
What altitude may the autopilot be used after takeoff?
Do not engage the autopilot below 1000 ft AGL on takeoff. (AFM/ASA)
Minimum single channel autopilot altitude during approach?
For single channel operation during approach, the autopilot shall not remain engaged below 50 ft AGL. (AFM).
Minimum autopilot altitude for a manually flown HGS AIII approach?
For manually flown HGS AIII approach, the autopilot shall not remain engaged below 500 ft AGL.
Can you use aileron trim with the autopilot engaged?
Use of aileron trim with autopilot engaged is prohibited. (AFM)
How long must the engines be operated prior to takeoff?
Warm-up: Engines must be operated for a minimum of 3 minutes prior to takeoff. (ASA)
How long must the engines be operated at or near idle prior to shut down?
Cool-down: Engines must be operated at or near idle (taxi thrust acceptable) for a minimum of 3 minutes prior to shutdown. (ASA)
Maximum Time Limit for Takeoff Thrust
5 minutes*
* 10 minutes allowed in the event of the loss of thrust on one engine during takeoff.
When must the ENGINE START switches be in the CONT position?
ENGINE START switches must be in the CONT position for:
• Takeoff
• Landing
• Anti-ice operation
• Operation in hail, sleet or moderate to heavy rain
When must the ENGINE START switches must be in the FLT position?
ENGINE START switches must be in the FLT position for:
• Operation in severe turbulence
Minimum Oil Temperature before setting takeoff thrust
737MAX = 31°C
No temp limitation for 737NG
Can you select reverse thrust in flight?
Intentional selection of reverse thrust in flight is prohibited.
