Q

what are examples in-situ testing

A

dynamic probes
shear vane- measure the shear strength of the soil
permeability test- how much water passes through
performance test- directly measures bearing ability

Q

what are the different types of sampling and define them

A

disturded sample- sample will no longer be in the same conditions as it was in the ground
undisturbed sample- driving a ‘u100’ tube into the ground
window sample- tube driven into the ground and has windows so that the soil can be accessed
