What are Above the Line Costs (ATL)

A

Pre-production costs. Helps people know if a movie is worth it… These costs are above the gross profit. Basically money spent on raw materials and labour or producers, actors, and directors— all the pricey things.

A

These are the costs of the behind-the-scenes work and post-production. This would include taxes, operating expenses, fees or like the workers (BTS) like sound and makeup people.

A

A

Used to describe and plan how actors and objects are to be moved in a scene in the camera. This is used to know how you’ll draw the audience’s attention to things, and impact the mood and tone or interpretation of the film.

A

Where people look at the script and identify elements of it at the scene level to prepare scenes, schedule, and budget. This would be identifying things like how many animals or cars, pillows and people you need to have to film the scene(s).
