What is the difference between innovation and change ?
Change may be change for you but not everybody in the organization.
Innovation is new for the whole organization
What are the 4 types of change?
- Radical change
- Incremental change
- Bounded change
- Deliverable-led change
What is radical change?
Revolutionary change, drastic changes, frame breaking changes, you are expecting people to change their values and beliefs,
What is Incremental change?
Minor changes, improvements, adjustments, people will not drastically change their values and opinions, usually very easy to manage
What is bounded change?
Need based change, usually initiated by a department, has a specific focus and time frame,
What is deliverable change?
Project based changes, think about improving something, it may or may not happen, you put the effort into it though it may not actually change, some things will change though not everything will change

Usually done by a managers or leader, proactive changes, how they can maximize the potential of the company
What is unplanned change?
Response to an external or internal problem, spontaneous

- Objective/Goals
- Strategy, structure, policy
- Organizational culture
- Behaviour or attitudes
- Technology
What are the objective/goals for targets of change?
If your goals are not achievable or realistic, if you don’t have the proper resources
What are the strategy, structure, policy for targets of change?
3 common strategy; defender cost cutting (Wal-Mart), defender; is focusing on the quality of the product(high end), analyzer strategy; find where your weakness is
What is the organizational culture for targets of change?
Most difficult, group norms values, takes longer
What are the behaviour or attitudes for targets of change?
Employees coming in late, not innovative
What is the technology for targets of change?
One of the most common, if you have a large org. you should not use much technology face to face is much better, larger org. use technology
What are common responses to change?
Apprehension, anger, denial, resentment, depression, cognitive dissonance, compliance, acceptance, resistance, internalization

The process, tools, or techniques of developing a planned approach to change in an organization.
What are the objectives of change management?
To maximize the efforts of all people involved/effected by the change initiative and minimize the risks of implementation.
