Existential says anxiety is primary driver to change; person-centered says there is a natural tendency towards growth and healing.

Existential - people make choices to shape lives. Person-centered - people are inherently good

Existential therapists may use confrontation; person-centered focus on building relationship.

Existential goals - personal meaning and aware of choices; Person-centered goals - creating safe environment to support self-actualization
