Hamilton’s Report on Manufactures
Advantages for hiring women and children. Jobs are open so it create independence for them, but they get paid less. They were supposedly less likely to go on strike.
Jefferson’s Agrarian Ideal
In an industrial society people lose their sense of craftsmanship, they are dependent on raw materials from around the world. He thought we shouldn’t have to be dependent on anyone.

Since the cotton frontier was moving westward, plantation owners chained slaves together and marched them to the south. They also were breeding slaves because it was cheaper than buying them
Lowell Mills
Industry made labor. The use of machinery sped up production, led to assembly line. Bosses put a lot of pressure on workers to produce more. Strikes were led by women but they were replaced by immigrants.
Indian Removal Act
The Cherokee refused to move and they brought their case to the supreme court and won.
Grimke sisters
They became advocates for blacks and women. They leave phili to become members of the Quaker church and hold the first national convention for women’s rights
Seneca Falls Convention
Without this convention, we would not have the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote
Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo
A step beyond the U.S.s goal of liberty. Americans have achieved Jefferson’s goal of stretching the country from ocean to ocean

Escaped from slavery and taught himself to read and write. Educated himself and used his knowledge to question the system of slavery using the language of the white politicians
