Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs)
are those who are paid every day of the month, including unworked rest days, special days, and regular holidays. Factor 365 days in a year is used in determining the equivalent monthly salary.
“Monthly-paid employees”
are those who are paid on the days they actually worked and on unworked regular holidays
Daily-paid employees
refers to the payment of the regular daily wage for any unworked regular holiday.
Holiday pay (Article 94)
refers to the additional compensation for work performed within eight (8) hours on rest days and special days.
PREMIUM PAY (Articles 91-93)
refers to the additional compensation for work performed beyond eight (8) hours a day.
OVERTIME PAY (Article 87)
refers to the additional compensation of ten percent (10%) of an employee’s regular wage for each hour of work performed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
NIGHT SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL (Article 86)

PARENTAL LEAVE FOR SOLO PARENTS (RA 8972, as amended by RA 11861x)
refers to the paid leave granted to a female employee who is a victim of violence against women and their children allowing her to attend to medical and legal concerns at any time during the application of any protection order, investigation, prosecution and/or trial of the criminal case.
LEAVE FOR VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN (VAWC) (RA 9262)
refers to the paid leave granted to a female employee allowing her to recuperate following surgery caused by gynecological disorders for a period of up to two (2) months.
SPECIAL LEAVE FOR WOMEN (RA 9710) A
refers to one-twelfth of the total basic salary earned by an employee within a calendar.
THIRTEENTH-MONTH PAYdd (PD 851)
is a compensation given to an employee who is terminated from employment due to authorized causes provided in Articles 298 and 299 of the Labor Code of the Philippines, as renumbered.
SEPARATION PAY (Articles 298-299)
refers to the compensation given to a retiring employee pursuant to Article 302 of the Labor Code of the Philippines, as renumbered.
RETIREMENT PAY (Article 302ss)
is a government program that provides a package of benefits to all workers and/or their beneficiaries in the event of a work-related sickness, injury, disability or death. The ECP is implemented by the Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), a government corporation attached to the Department of Labor and Employment for policy coordination and guidance.
