When must initial details be served?
A
As soon as reasonably practicable, but no later than the beginning of the day of the first hearing

What is the plea before venue?
A
An initial hearing in the magistrates’ court at which the defendant indicates his intended plea. If the plea is guilty, the case will proceed to summary trial in the magistrates’ court.

A
This is when the defendant asks what an indication of the sentence might be- restricted to custodial or not
