Five Phase Treatment Protocol Flashcards
(22 cards)
Step 1: Tonify
Treat the Primary Sho: deficiency/imbalance
R: Female
L: Male
Note: If one-sided issues, treat Healthy Side
#1 Seirin Needles: Tonify (10 minutes) Note: Governing Cycle
Step 2: Tonify or Disperse
Treat the Secondary Pattern: excess/deficiency
Tx: Opposite Side
Normal Pulse: Apply Step 1 Bilaterally
#1 Seirin Needles: Tonify (2 minutes) #2 Seirin Needles: Disperse (30 seconds)
Note: Controlling Cycle
Note: Both patterns are retained within the first 10 minutes
Step 3: Tonify
1 Seirin Needles: 2 Minute
Treat Yang Qi: Deficiency
Note: If there is Yang Deficiency + Excess, follow step 3 followed by step 4, otherwise choose step 3 or 4 based upon pulse findings.
Step 4: Disperse
2 Seirin Needles: 30 Seconds
Treat Yang Qi: Excess
If Yang is excess, the following points are needled in a dispersive manner using #2 Seirin needle for 30 seconds of the body. Pay attention to side!!!
Step 5: Back-Shu
Back-Shu: Primary Patter 2-10 Minutes
Tx Head to Toe
#1 Weaker Client #2 Stronger Client
Look for Deficiency, not Pain
Don’t use all three points if client very deficient ***????
Step 5:
2-10 Minutes
Step 1: LU Sho

SP3
Note: Generating Cycle
Tx Time: 10 minte
Step 3: LU Sho
Yang Pulses Deficient: Tonify
R: LI11 (He Sea, Earth, Tonification)
R: ST36 (Lower He Sea, Earth, Horary) (Command Abd) (etc)
R: TW4 (Source)
L: SI7 (Luo)
L: GB37 (Luo)
L: BL58 (Luo)
If all yang pulses are weak:
B: TW4 - Yuan qi, for yang xu
B: ST36 - builds/regulates blood + strengthens wei qi, regulate 3 Jiao
R/L = Left/Right Tonify B = Bilaterally Tonify
If a Yang Deficient pulse has been determined, the following points will be needled in a tonifying manner using #1 Seirin needle for 2 minutes! Pay attention to side!!!
Step 4: LU Sho
Yang Pulses Excess: Disperse
R: LI6 (Luo)
R: ST40 (Luo)
R: TW5 (Luo) (Master pt. Yang Wei Mai) (Command Dai Mai)
L: SI7 (Luo)
L: GB37 (Luo)

If a LV or KD Secondary Pattern add:
BL 18 (LV) (T9) BL 23 (KD) (L2)
Once the root tx is complete, may do local tx
