QUOTE – “We will perform in measure, time and place”

PLOT – Malcolm says this when he takes his rightful kingship and the natural order is restored. He vows to take action only when it is appropriate.

A

Modal verb - ‘will’ to show this is his pledge and promise. This would make the audience feel reassured that the natural order has been restored as Malcolm is now king and seems calm and dedicated to Scotland.
List of three abstract nouns: used to emphasise how much different Malcolm will be as a king. The connotations of measure, time and place are that he will be organised and he will act appropriately. He is acting as a king should, not like Macbeth did. This part has parallels to the way his father Duncan spoke too.
CONTEXT – Divine Right of Kings – Order has been restored to the country now Malcom is on the throne – Shakespeare would often end his tragedies with some type of return to order.
