Flight Controls Flashcards
(45 cards)
What is the Stabilizer Trim priority logic?
- Back Up
- Captain
- FO
- FCM (auto-trim) commands.
In DIRECT mode for the flight controls the Flight Control Module is bypassed and what do you loose?
High level functions are by passed
- AOA Limiting - Prevents a Stall
- Thrust Compensation - Prevent pitch moment with thrust change.
- More stable when using speed brakes
- Less elevator deflection at higher airspeeds.
An Amber indications for the flaps means what?
The surface has failed.
If trim is not set for takeoff, when do you find out its not set properly?
When you press the Takeoff Config Check, you get a “NO TAKEOFF TRIM” will be announced
In DIRECT Mode will the ground spoilers deploy on landing?
No, not even if you pull the handle.
What does the SHAKER 1 CUTOUT button due?
It activate the stick shaker when pitching to the PLI
All flight controls are Fly-By-Wire, exept
The Ailerons
TRIM Commands are limited to how many seconds before you get the Aural warning?
3 seconds
The speed brakes automatically retract under what conditions?
- Airspeed less than 180kts
- TLA 70 degrees
- Flaps 2 or greater.
On the Yoke the Red AP/TRIM DISC button does what
When pressed and held it disables both Pitch Trim Channels
What makes up the flight control system
Primary and Secondary flight controls
What are primary Flight Controls?
- Ailerons
- Elevator
- Rudder
What makes up secondary flight controls?
- Horizontal Stabilizer
- Spoilers
- Flaps and Slats
How to the Ailerons Work?
Conventional cables to a pair of hydro-mechanical actuators
Which Trim Switch has priority?
The captain side.
How is Roll Controlled?
With ailerons and 3 MFS
How many multi function spoilers are their and what are their function?
- 3 Are to aid with roll in the air
- 2 are ground only spoilers
- 5 total
Will a loss in airspeed cause the flight controls to go in Direct Mode?
Yes
How are the flight controls trimed?
The Ailerons, Rudder and horizontal Stabilizers move to a new position?
Will the MFS work in Direct Mode?
Yes, only in the air.
What happens to the flight control system when the RAT is the only AC power source?
- Horizontal stab trim operates at 1⁄2 speed
- Slat / flap system operates at 1⁄2 speed
- Slat / flap position is limited to ‘3’ to allow adequate airspeed for the RAT
What does the TCS Button do?
if the AP is engaged, pressing and holding the TCS will momentarily override the AP. Releasing the TCS, the AP resumes airplane control.
What is the E-PBIT testing for?
Looking for out of tolerance conditions and failures.
What is the H-PBIT testing for?
Testing to see if the actuators can actually move the flight controls.
