During Lent (40 days before Easter), Christians will choose to give up a certain type of food (i.e. Meat, fish, alcohol)
During easter, hot cross buns are eaten to represent to crucifixion of Jesus.

Jhatka method is used to slaughter meat. This is believed to be a quick and painless method.
