Iodine solution is an irritant (use gloves and goggles)

A
  1. Add 1cm^3 of biuret solution A to the food solution in a test tube.
  2. mix the liquids
  3. Add 1cm^3 of biuret solution B
  4. shake
  5. if protein is present, the colour will be purple
    * wear goggles
