Force
A type of applied movement

When two forces act on the same object

When a moving object comes in contact with another and heats up also slowing down
Reaction/normal force
An equal but opposite force to gravity

When two objects moving at any speed colide

Air resistance/drag
Air resistance affects objects moving through the air slowing them down because of the particles hitting the object
Thrust
A force that moves objects in any direction
Non- contact force
A force that does not need to be touched to be moved or to move an object

When an object stretches or becomes longer
Gravity
A force that pulls objects down to the centre of the earth
Upthrust
A force that pushes objects up

Elastic limit
The limit in which a certain object can be stretched before it breaks
Water resistance
Water resistance affects objects moving in the water e.g. boat slowing them down
Resultant force
After an applied force has acted on an object the force that you are left with is the resultant force

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction
Hooke’s law
Hookes law suggests that when an object is hanging every time a weights are added (equal mass) the extension of the spring will be the same as the one before

Streamlined objects are objects that have a unique shape designed to smoothly move through air and water particles

Newtons are a type of measurement used to measure the amount of force acting on an object
Balance force
Balanced forces are forces that are acting against each other however they have no effect because they are equal
Newton meter
A newton meter is used to measure how many newtons are acting on an object
Unbalanced force
An unbalanced force is a force that is being acted on however it is weaker thus has no effect

Tension is a pulling force that acts on ropes etc
