Ture or False - A force is a push, pull or twist

2

Ture or False - Forces:
- Change the shape of an object
- Change the direction of an object
- Cause something to start moving
- Cause something to stop moving '
- Speed up an already moving object
- Slow down an already moving object

Ture

3

Ture or False - Newton = n

False - Newton = N

4

Newtons are named are Sir David Newton

False - Newtons is named after Sir Isaac Newton

5

Ture or False - We measure Newtons using a spring balance

6

Applied force?

A force that is exerted by a person, animal or machine

7

Gravity?

an attractive force between objects that have mass; on Earth, it pulls objects to the ground, in space, it keeps objects in orbit

8

Tension?

A force that is being pulled from two directions using a rope/chord

9

Elastic force?

A force occurs whenever objects spring back to their original shape after being squashed or stretched

10

Air resistance?

A force that resists an object's motion through the air

11

Friction?

A type of contact force that resists an object's motion across a solid surface to slow it down

12

Magnetic?

a type of non-contact force that arises from certain materials (E.g. iron) and electric currents

13

Contact force?

Any force that can only occur when two objects touch, such as friction

14

Non-contact force?

Any force that can occur even when two objects are not touching, such as gravity, magnetism or electrostatic forces

15

Balanced force?

Forces that act on an object in opposite directions and are the same size. Balanced forces cancel each other out and have no effect on the object's motion.

16

Unbalance force?

Forces that act on an object in opposite direction sizes

17

Water resistance?

Water particle slowing an object down.

18

Force arrows?

Are used to measure how much force is being pulled. The longer the arrow = the more force.
