Q

What do the lines on this picture symbolise?

A

Magnetic flux lines always come out of the north pole of a magnet and go into the south pole. This means that for bar magnets, the magnetic field comes out of the north pole then curves around to enter the south pole.

Q

What do the dots symbolise on a magnatic field?

A

If magnetic field lines are coming out of the page, they are drawn as a series of dots. Most people think of it like the tip of a dart shooting toward you, which looks like a small circle.

Q

What do the crosses symbolise in a magnetic field?

A

If the field lines are going straight into the page, they are drawn as crosses. This is like the back end of a dart shooting away from you.

Q

What is newton’s first law of motion?

A

Inertia. Inertia is the resistance of the object to any change in motion, including direction. An object will stay or keep moving at the same speed unless acten upon by an external force.

Q

What is the difference between effort and load?

A
