origin - humeral head, medial epicondyle, ulna head, coronoid process
insertion - lateral surface of radius
action - forearm pronation + assist elbow flexion
Flexor carpi radialis (FCR)
origin - medial epicondyle
insertion - base of 2nd + 3rd metacarpals
action - flexes and radial deviation
Flexor carpi ulnaris (FCU)
origin - medial epicondyle + olecranon
insertion - pisifrom, hook of hamate, base of 5th metacarpal
action - flexes + ulnar deviation
Flexor digitorum superficialis (FDS)
intermediate + deep
origin - medial epicondyle, coronoid process, anterior border of radius
insertion - middle phalanges of digits 2-5
action - flexes PIP joinys + assists in wrist/mcp flexion
Flexor pollicis longus (FPL)
intermediate + deep
origin - Anterior surface of radius and interosseous membrane
insetion - base of distal phalanc of thumb
action - flexes IP joint of thumb + assists wrist flexion
flexor digitorum profundus (FDP)
intermediate + deep
origin - anterior + medial surfaces of ulna and interosseous membrane
insertion - base of distal phalanges of digits 2-5
action - flexes DIP joints + assists with PIP, MCP and wrist flexion
pronator quadratus
origin - distal fourth of anteror surface of ulna
insertion - distal fourth of anterior surface os the radius
action - pronates
