1496- Joined the Holy league( alliance of French rivals)- in response to Charles VI of France’s invasion of Italy- secure Englands border to counter French influence. Treaty of Etaples

A

Treaty of Medina del Campo 1489- equal trading and no treaties with France, marriage alliance( betrothed Arthur and Catherine)- they later married in 1501- after Isabelle of Castiles death Spains future was uncertain so relations soured 1504-1509

What was the Treaty of Windsor?

A

Burgundy 1506- were forced to take refuge in England - facilitated a potential marriage between Henry VIII/ Margaret- the return of Earl of Suffolk which secured his dynasty

What was the Treaty of Etaples?

A

France took control of Brittany, which was against Henry’s interests. This was called the Breton Crisis.
The 1492 Treaty of Étaples that ended Breton Crisis gave Henry an annual income and a guarantee that France would not shelter any English rebels
