Yin Qiao San

A

This is for SORE THROAT which is more robust/extreme

Only used if the pathogen is in the throat.

Jin Yin Hua and Lian Qiao benefit the throat.

Other herbs are releasing exterior ( Dan Dou Chi, Bo He) and also generating fluids ( Dan Zhu Ye, Xian Lu Gen, and Gan Cao) which mostly benefits the yin fluids

***Chai Ge Jie Ji Tang

A

This involves exterior W/C that gets trapped in the muscle layer.

Fever that intensifies and dips into the yang ming layer from the Tai Yang (Chai Hu prohibits pathogen from reaching the Shao Yang)

Less interior heat signs, but beginning to appear. Sometimes used for tooth-ache due to wind-heat.

Sang Ju Yin

A

This is for an exterior invasion of wind heat ( milder/earlier stage)

  • red eyes and nasal congestion with COUGHING (jie geng and xing ren address this)
  • this pathology has not descended into the throat so there is NO SORE THROAT, more likely to be cough. ( Sang Ye and Ju Hua)
