How is oil refined into: Natural gas, gasoline, heating oil, diesel, asphalt
-to refine oil, the oil is heated up in a furnace to different grade oils (eg. diesel oil and gasoline), these grades are based on how much the oil is heated and how pure it is
What is fracking? How is it done? What are the problems?
-fracking: the process of injecting liquid at high pressure into shale so as to force open existing fissures and extract oil or gas
-debates over sustainability in fracking, can cause earthquakes, requires lots of water, can contaminate aquifers
