Story of Romulus and Remus pre-Rome
Vestal virgin gave birth to them and named mars as their father. They were exposed and left to drown in the Tiber river. A she-wolf took care of them until a shepherd found them and took them to his wife Larentia, called a Lupa.
Story of Romulus and Remus after upbringing
They wanted to start a city, but argued over name/ruler. They decided by means of augury. Remus stood on Aventine hill, and six vultures came first. Romulus stood on Palatine and twelve vultures came second.
Story of Remus’s death
Romulus and Remus continued to fight, and Remus was killed. OR Remus jumped over Romulus’s stone walls and was killed by Romulus.
Story of Aeneas
After the Greeks took over Troy, Aeneas fled with his father, son, and wife. His wife died on the way. The gods told Aeneas to found a new Troy, which was Rome. His story is written in the Aeniad.
