How to add and subtract fractions?
Combine the numerators over a common denominator.
Example: 2/3 + 1/4 = (8 + 3) / 12 = 11/12
How to multiply fractions?
Multiply the numerators and multiply the denominators.
Example: (3/10) x (5/12) = 15/120 = 1/8
How to divide fractions?
Multiply by the reciprocal of the divisor.
Example: (3/10) ÷ (5/12) = (3/10) x (12/5) = 36/50 = 18/25
What is the zero index in indices?
Any number raised to the power of zero equals one.
Example: 4^0 = 1
What is the product of 32 and 34 in index form?
32 × 34 = 36
What is the result of 65 divided by 67 in index form?
65 ÷ 67 = 63
Work out 22 × 23 in index form.
22 × 23 = 24
Work out 54 × 57 in index form.
54 × 57 = 511
Work out 78 × 73 in index form.
78 × 73 = 711
Work out 95 × 92 in index form.
95 × 92 = 97
What is the result of 45 divided by 42 in index form?
45 ÷ 42 = 43
What is 33 divided by 30 in index form?
33 ÷ 30 = 31
What is 28 divided by 24 in index form?
28 ÷ 24 = 22
What is 7 raised to the power of 0?
7^0 = 1
