What describes how we comb the hair in relation to its partings and sections in prep for the cut?
Distribution
What are the four key points to Toni&Guy methodology?
Partings and sections
Distribution
Elevation
Cut
What is elevation?
A form of distribution on that refers to the way you lift hair away from the head in prep for the cut
How do you create varying degrees of weight when cutting hair?
By using elevation and shifting the hair forwards or backwards from natural fall
What is natural fall?
The way the hair falls naturally due to growth pattern
Anything other than natural fall is known as what?
Overdirecting/overdirection
Perpendicular distribution
90 degrees on base
Name the partings and section
Profile, radial, horseshoe, horizontal, vertical, diagonal back, diagonal forward, pivoting
Profile parting is?
Center forehead to center nape: separates the head from the left to right
Radial parting is?
Crown to the hairline above the ear; separates the head from front to back
Horseshoe parting is?
Recession to recession; seprates the head from top to bottom
Horizontal parting?
A line parallel to the horizon; a profile parting with a horizontal part
Vertical parting?
A line perpendicular to the horizon
Diagonal back parting?
A line that angles away from the face
Diagonal forward parting?
A line that angles towards the face
Pivoting and pivoting radial partings?
Pivotal; rotating from a central point
Pivoting radial; pivoting off the crown
Anything above 90 degrees elevation is what?
Over directed
A measurement to determine the depth of graduation allied to a perimeter line
Fingers depth
45 degrees
Midway between 0 & 90 creates a buildup of weight
90 degrees elevation
Creates removal of weight
Square cut
A straight line with corners
An external rounded line parallel from the head shape; a curved line having no corners
Round cut
An increase in length from one reference point to another
Short to long cut
What is a Visual cut?
Creating a guide by visualizing a connection between to reference points
