(15 cards)
Absolute Value
A number’s distance from zero(0) on a number line.
Acute Angle
An angle with a measure less than 90 degrees and greater than 0 degrees
Addend
Any number being added
Angle
A figure formed by two rays with the same endpoint (vertex).
Coordinate grid or plane
A two-dimensional network of horizontal and vertical lines that are parallel and evenly spaced.
Coordinates
Numbers that correspond to points on a coordinate plane in the form (x, y), or a number that corresponds to a point on a number line. Also called ordered pairs.
Cylinder
A three-dimensional figure with two parallel bases that are congruent circles and a lateral face that is a parallelogram.
Divisible
Capable of being divided by another number without a remainder.
Dozen
A quantity made of twelve items
Congruent
Having exactly the same shape and size
Parallel
A relationship between lines, line segments, rays or planes that are a constant distance apart.
Pattern
A predictable or prescribed sequence of numbers, objects, etc. Patterns and relationships may be described or presented using manipulatives, tables, graphics (pictures or drawings), or algebraic rules (functions).
Polygon
A closed plane figure, having at least three sides that are line segments and are connected at their endpoints.
Product
The result of multiplying numbers together.
Real-world problem
A problem that is an application of a real-life situation involving mathematics
