what is boundary maintanance
crime gets reactions from society, members come together against the criminal, punishment strengthens values and norms eg courtroom cases that are publicised show right and wrong boundaries
what is adaption and change
all change starts with deviance, as change is deviant from norms, if this didnt happen society would stagnate, too much control would crush revolutionary
