Key concept 2 - Value consensus and social order

A

Social order is achieved by a shared culture and value consensus, sets of norms values beliefs and goals as the glue that holds society together ( Parsons )
Boundary maintenance in crime - produces a reaction from society, reinforces commitment (of the public) to the shared norms and values and creates social solidarity.

not everyone has the same norms and values and benefit from it eg religion doesn’t socialise everyone in the same way , all religions socialise differently
