What is difference between pastoral and arable farming?
Pastoral involves livestock.
Arable is crops.
What is carrying capacity?
Maximum threshold that area can support. If exceeded = unsustainable land degradation.
What is difference between subsistence and commercial farming?
Subsistence = owning land for local consumption, vulnerable to poverty and insecurity.
Commercial = Capitalism approach
Extensive v Intensive
Extensive = large scale commercialised.
Intensive = small scale to get more yield per hectare
What is shifting cultivation versus sedentary technique?
A sustainable technique that rotates fields.
Sedentary farms the same area every year.
