Moisten litmus paper / universal indicator paper and place into contact with gas

Changes red then bleaches

Bubble gas produced through limewater
What is the positive result for carbon dioxide
Limewater turns cloudy/milky
Test for sulfur dioxide?
Bubble gas through potassium dichromate salutation.
Positive result for sulfur dioxide?
Changes from orange to green
What is the test for hydrogen chloride?
Dip a glass rod in concentrated ammonia and place in contact with gas / moisten universal indicator paper and place in contact with the gas
Positive test for hydrogen chloride
Gas rod = white fumes produced
Universal indicator = turns red
Test for ammonia?
Dip a glass rod in concentrated hydrochlorlic and place in contact with the gas / moisten universal indicator paper and place in contact with the gas
Positive test for ammonia?
Glass rod = white fumes
Universal indicator = changes to blue
