Q

There has been a fall in the Primary and Secondary sectors of operation in the UK over the last 20 years?
True or False? & Why?

A

True,
Both Primary sector and Secondary sector activity has fallen in the UK over the last 20 years.
Reasons for this include:
Cheaper imports - it is cheaper to import products from outside of the UK than it is to produce them in the UK. (Production costs and wages are cheaper in other countries)
UK Climate - The UK climate is not as favourable to the growth of certain items, resultantly these are imported to meet demand.
