What’s focal length?
How zoomed in your shot is and represented in mm. As it goes up it is more zoomed in.
What is less zoomed in?
Wide angle or short lens
What is more zoomed in?
Telephoto lens or long lens. Long lens has more compression.
What happens to your image if you stand close to subject with a wide lens?
Less blurry
What happens to your image if you stand far away from subject with a long lens?
More blurry
When would it be good to use a wider lens?
When you don’t have enough space
What kind of lens could be good if you need more light?
Macro lens
What kind of shots give your video a higher production value?
Different types eg still, moving
What’s a 3 point lighting system made up of?
Key light, fill light, hair light
What’s a key light?
Main light source
Placed one side of subject (off centre)
It’s a smaller soft box which is more bright
What is a fill light?
Fills in shadows
Needs to be less bright than key light
Larger soft box
What is a hair light?
Separate subject from background
Placed behind subject and off to one side
