example of alpha bias in a study

A

Freud’s psychosexual development theory (1905) - phallic stage, boys & girls desire opposite sex parent, boys have castration anxiety but resolves when identifies with father, girls identification with mother is weaker, superego is weaker and so girls are seen morally inferior to boys.

research in fight or flight - conducted on male animals as females had too many hormonal changes (ovulation). ignores difference in behaviour and minimises to hormones
