Q
What are these gene mutations: Addition Substitution Deletion Inversion Duplication Translocation
A
addition - insertion of extra nucleotides in a DNA sequence or chromosome.
substitution - exchanges one base for another that could change a codon to one that encodes a different amino acid and cause a small change in the protein produced.
deletion - when a part of a base sequence of DNA or nucleotide is lost during DNA replication, causing a frame shift
translocation - when a chromosomal segment is moved from one position to another, either within the same chromosome or to another chromosome
