client is thinking about about and talking about change. considering weather or not to work toward change
preparation stage of chagne
actively planning out steps in order to make change happe
maintenence
client is maintaining change that has been made.
action stage of change
client is taking positive steps to put the plan from preparation into practice
relapse
not all models acknowledge - relapses do happen and are part of the process.
alcoholic family: the dependent

often the spouse, the person who does everything to get the dependent to stop drinking except what might actually work
the alcoholic family: the hero
the family member who is aware of what is going on and tries to assume respopnsiblityh for the family being successful (often the oldest child)

the family member who rejects the family system (often the 2nd)

the family member who quietly withdraws from the family system (often the 3rd)
