Containing 1-5 bags - 1 sample from each bag
Containing 6 - 30 bags 1 sample from 5 bags
Containing 31 bags or more 1 sample from 10 bags
TOTAL size of sample determined in WI and based on total consignment size (greater than 999K 1L per 15,000 kg.
What are the pre-inspection requirements prior to undertaking an inspection
- Consignment must be inspected in a designated biosecurity area
- Biosecurity area must meet requirements (cleanliness, lighting etc)
- Access to all parts of the consignment that require inspection in sufficient
- Consignment is stacked in a safe manner and is no more than 2 pallets high.
- Person in charge/representative is present
How do we match consignment to documentation
1 - type and quantity of goods detailed matches consignment
2 - if possible, lot/batch/use by dates should match
What are some procedures to contain the risk when actively moving/flying insects are detected
- Seal carton or container
- Apply knockdown spray
- Apply shrink wrapping or tarp
- Place back into shipping container, apply seal and record seal number in AIMS
- Close doors to warehouse
When must a non-compliance report must be lodged?
Undeclared biosecurity risk items are detected
Documentation doesn’t match consignment
Approved arrangement non-compliance issues e.g. low/no lighting, damaged inspection table, cleanliness
