A

HIWAS. Hazardous inflight weather advisory service.

Why do a lot of the vor boxes have Raleigh on the bottom?

A

That is the FSS you can talk to. If the frequency has an R behind it that means FSS receives on that frequency and you listen over the vor frequency.

The altitudes printed on the chart for class B, C, D, and TRSAs are MSL. Class E-shaded and dotted magenta lines are AGL.
