What is Acting Style?
The style in which you are acting in, for instance; naturalistic, stylized etc.
Define the Actor-audience relationship.
The relationship created between the actor and the audience.
What does Atmosphere refer to in drama?
The feeling and emotion that is created.
What is meant by Blocking?
The moves of the actors on stage.
Who is considered the Central character in a drama?
The most important character in the drama or a character key to the drama.
What is a Minor character?
A character who is less important to the plot and themes.
Define Characterisation.
The investigation and portrayal of a character.
What does Character behaviour refer to?
The way a character acts and responds to others.
What is the Climax in a play?
The most dramatic point in the play.
What is meant by Context in drama?
The world in which the play is happening in, including social, political, and cultural context.
What are Design Concepts?
Ideas for the design of the production; for instance lighting, costume, set etc.
Define Dialogue in the context of drama.
The spoken word between characters.
What does Drama Media encompass?
Projections, video footage, sound scapes etc.
What does Drama Process refer to?
The steps taken from responding to stimulus or text.
What is Dramatic Irony?
Actions or remarks whose significance is not realised by all the characters.
What is a Duologue?
A conversation between two characters.
What is Episodic Structure?
Series of scenes or stories linking together by a common theme, character or setting etc. It does not need to link to the same storyline.
What is a Key Scene?
One of the most important scenes in the drama.
What is a Key Moment?
A moment in the drama which is integral to the plot.
What is Given Circumstances?
Textual information given to an actor about a character or moment (this cannot be altered). This will help them to play the character and situation true to the text.
What is a Ground Plan?
A drawing or image that gives a birds eye view of the set, acting area and audience position.
What is Language in drama?
The words used by the characters during the play. This can determine class, personality, feelings etc.
What is the Message in a drama?
The overall point to be communicated.
What is Mood in a drama?
The feeling or emotion of a moment or piece.
