Define cultural intergration
The blending of different culture where communities adapt to and absorb external influences.
Define economic globalisation
Refers to the breaking down of the wall that separates national economics from each other.
Define European Union
The world’s largest trading group, consisting of 25 countries from Europe.
Define globalisation
The breakdown of traditional barriers between nations allowing the movement of goods, people, capital and information.
Define global village
A world in which any individual can talk to any other, anywhere in the world.
Define humanitarian
Having regard for the interests of humanity. Being an advocate for human rights and equality.
Define labour intensive
An industry which needs a relatively large labour force.
Define telecenter
Community centres in remote areas with computer, Internet and other ICT devices to help people enjoy the benefits of globalisation.

To make more Western in ideas, character, for example more European or American

The decrease of time it takes to travel to different countries, the ability to communicate with people globally using email, instant chat, telephones, ect and the development of the Internet.

A TNC (which stands for TransNational Coorperation) is a organisation or Coorperation which operates globally.
Define an NGO
An NGO (stands for Non-Government Organisation) is a private organisation, usually not-for-profit, with a charitable, community or environmental focus. eg. Red Cross, World Vision
What is a geographical issue?
Global geographical issues are matters that concern all of us. They include issues about change in the environments and how people interact with environments and with each other.
Define Culture
The body of beliefs, attitudes, skills and tools by which communities structure their lives and interact with their environment.
Define developed country
A country with a strong economy and every citizen has equal oportunities.
Define developing country
A country whose economy isn’t very good and they have a high rate of poverty.
Define absolute poverty
Absolute poverty is the condition of having so little food, money or resources that the people, no matter where they are in the world can barely survive.

Define relative poverty
Relative poverty is where there is not the lack of sufficient resources to survive but the lack of resources required to participate in the lifestyle enjoyed by other people in the country.
Define a renewable resource
Those that can maintain and / or replace themselves if managed correctly.
Define non-renewable resources
Those that cannot be replaced once they have been used.
Define GPD
A GDP (Gross Domestic Product) is the broadest way of measuring a countries total economic activity.
What is the HDI?
The HDI (Human Development Index) is a statistical tool used to measure a countries overall achievement in social and economic values.
What does IGO mean?
InterGovernmental Organisation. When two or more governments work together such as the Australaian government and the English government. eg. United Nations, European Union
Define standard of living
The economic well being of people. Those with greater wealth are assumed to a higher standard of living than those with less.
