2
Q
calculating biodiversity
A
- one way in which scientists calculate geetic biodiversity is by measrung polymorphism.
-polymorhic genes have more than one allele, most gees are monomorphic (only oe allele exists for that gene) - the greater the polymorhic gene loci, the greater genetic biodiversity of that population.
3
Q
genetic biodiversity
A
- all members of a species share the same genes, thoguht they may have different versions of these genes (alleles)
- the differences in the alleles among individuals creates genetic biodiversity.
- the more alleles in a population the more genetically biodiveres it is.
- important as thye are more likely to adapt to changes in their enviroment.
