What are the stages of genetic engineerig

A

Identify the section of DNA that contains the required gene
Extract the required gene using enzymes
Remove the plasmid from the bacterium and cut it open using enzymes
Insert the required gene into bacterial plasmid, using a different enzyme
Put the engineered plasmid into a host bacterial cell to produce a GM
Bacteria reproduces to produce the protein the inserted gene codes for
