Q

4 steps in classical breeding

A
  1. Determine which trait are significant enough to be chosen.
  2. Select parents that exemplify the desirable traits.
  3. Choose the best offspring from parents to produce the next generation.
  4. Repeat the process.

13
Q

5 steps of recombinant dna technology

A
  1. We need two variables DNA Containing the “gene of interest” and a Bacterial plasmid;
  2. We need to cut and open the Bacterial plasmid by “restriction enzyme”;
  3. Insert the gene of interest into the open plasmid by DNA ligase.
  4. Then you can now have RECOMBINANT DNA. Afterwards, Insert the Recombinant DNA to the bacterial cell.
  5. Then isolate the bacteria for it to multiply

17
Q

aims to fix a faulty gene or replace it with a healthy gene to try to cure disease or make the body better able to fight disease.

18
Q

is a genetically modified (GM) rice that produces beta carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A.
