Causes of acid rain
A
Emissions of sulphur dioxide and nitrous oxide from motor vehicles, factories and power stations get transported up into the atmosphere.
These gases combine with water vapour and water droplets in the air to form sulphuric and nitric acid.
The water droplets in the atmosphere contain these acids and when it rains the rain is acidic.
