What is the age dependency ratio?
The sum of the young population (under age 15) and elderly population (age 65 and over) relative to the working-age population (ages 15 to 64).
What is a core in economic terms?
A central region in an economy, with good communications and high population density, which conduce to its prosperity.
What is the demographic dividend?
The accelerated economic growth that may result from a decline in a country’s birth and death rates and the subsequent change in the age structure of the population.
What is demographic transition?
The changes in key population parameters over time, primarily focusing on birth rates, death rates, and overall population growth within a society or country as it undergoes social and economic changes.
What is economic development?
The process whereby simple, low-income national economies are transformed into modern industrial economies.
What is an economic migrant?
A person who leaves their country of origin purely for economic reasons that are not in any way related to the refugee definition.

A person or groups of persons who has been forced to flee their homes due to conflict or disasters.

The geographic coordinate that specifies the north-south position of a point on the Earth’s surface.
What is life expectancy at birth?
Indicates the number of years a newborn infant would live if prevailing patterns of mortality remain unchanged.
What are low-income economies?
Those with a GNI per capita of $1,135 or less in 2022.
What are lower middle-income economies?
Those with a GNI per capita between $1,136 and $4,465 in 2022.
What is a megacity?
An urban area with a population of at least ten million people.
What is a middle-income country?
Defined by the World Bank as economies with a GNI per capita between $1,086 and $13,205.
What are multi-governmental organizations?
Organizations comprised of the governments of multiple countries, such as the United Nations.
