Q

What are tributaries?

A

Smaller river channels flowing into the main channel. Tributaries increases discharge and energy in the river channel leading to faster laminar flow of water.

Q

Difference between laminar and turbulent flow?

A

Laminar Flow: Found near the mouth and is faster due to less collision against smaller sediment
Turbulent Flow: Found near the source and is slower due to water colliding with larger sediment
